Do I need a Japanese driver’s license?
No. An International Driving Permit (IDP) issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention is accepted. This covers most countries including the US, UK, Australia, and most of Europe.
Can we pick up the car at the airport?
Yes. Vehicle pickup at Haneda Airport and Narita Airport is available with advance reservation. Perfect for families arriving with lots of luggage — no need to navigate trains.
What is the minimum rental period?
The minimum rental period is one month (30 days). Extensions are available month by month.
Is there a mileage limit?
Yes. The standard mileage limit is 3,000 km per 30 days. Excess mileage is charged at ¥11 per km (tax included).
Can we use the car for long road trips outside Tokyo?
Absolutely. You can drive anywhere in Japan. The ETC device included in your rental lets you use expressways conveniently. Fuel costs and expressway tolls are not included in the monthly price.
