If an accident involving another party occurs, please follow the instructions below.
Please note that single-vehicle (self-inflicted) accidents are not covered by voluntary insurance.

What to Do in Case of an Accident

Non-Operation Charge (NOC)

If the vehicle requires repair due to an accident, the following charges apply as compensation for lost business during the repair period.

Cases Where Insurance and Coverage Do Not Apply

  • No official accident report is obtained
  • Monthly Go is not notified at the time of the accident
  • Driving without a valid driver’s license
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Failure to report the accident to the police
  • Driver was not the person registered at the time of rental
  • Unauthorized private settlement with the other party
  • Failure to return the vehicle after the rental period ends
  • Exclusions under the automobile insurance policy
  • Accident caused by gross negligence
  • Accident caused by serious negligence
  • Any violation of rental terms or applicable laws

Accidents Caused by Gross Negligence

In cases of gross negligence, insurance coverage does not apply.
The customer must fully compensate for the rental vehicle, pay business loss compensation, and an additional gross negligence penalty of ¥200,000.

Examples of Gross Negligence

  • Drunk driving or driving under the influence
  • Falling asleep while driving
  • Driving without a license
  • Driving while extremely fatigued
  • Speeding 30 km/h or more over the limit
  • Intentional or reckless driving
  • Driving while unfit due to illness or drugs
  • Aggressive or dangerous driving

Accidents Caused by Serious Negligence

In cases of serious negligence, the Collision Damage Waiver does not apply regardless of enrollment.
The following damage charges will be applied.

These amounts include deductibles, compensation, and NOC.
Vehicle repair costs are charged separately.
If Monthly Go’s damages are fully compensated, no additional charges will be applied.

Examples of Serious Negligence

  • Rear-end collisions
  • Using a mobile phone while driving
  • Failure to pay proper attention
  • Running a red light
  • Speeding between 15 km/h and 30 km/h over the limit
  • Improper steering or braking
  • Inattentive driving

Single-Vehicle (Self-Inflicted) Accidents

Single-vehicle accidents are generally not covered by Monthly Go’s voluntary insurance.
However, compulsory automobile liability insurance applies within the legal limits.

All other damages, including driver injuries, vehicle repair costs, and related expenses, are the customer’s responsibility.

Repair Handling for Single-Vehicle Accidents

If the customer arranges repairs at their own expense and completes repairs within 30 days from the accident date, Monthly Go will not charge repair costs.

However, a security deposit may be required until repairs are completed in the following cases.

Settlement After Repair Completion

Repair completion will be confirmed upon submission of the following.

If repair costs are less than the deposit, the difference will be refunded
If repair costs exceed the deposit, the balance will be billed later

Incomplete Repair or No Repair Confirmation

If repairs are not completed within 30 days from the accident date, or repair intent cannot be confirmed, Monthly Go will arrange repairs and bill actual costs including business loss compensation (NOC).

Failure to make payment may result in legal action.
All damages, including legal and attorney fees, will be claimed.

Customer Responsibility in Case of a Breakdown

Repair costs, towing fees, and battery replacement due to mechanical failure are provided free of charge.

However, repairs and towing caused by customer negligence, such as failure to perform daily checks, are the responsibility of the renter.

Examples Not Covered by Insurance or Compensation

  • Engine damage due to insufficient oil
  • Overheating due to low coolant
  • Tire puncture or blowout
  • Wheel damage
  • Windshield or body damage from flying debris
  • Damage caused by tire chains or carriers
  • Battery drain caused by leaving lights on
  • Lost, damaged, or locked-in keys

As this is a long-term rental, customers must perform daily checks, including engine oil, brake fluid, coolant levels, and battery condition.

If vehicle repairs are required due to customer responsibility, the following business loss compensation applies.
