Monthly GO provides an ETC card rental service for customers using long-term and monthly car rental services in Japan.
Please review the following terms and conditions carefully before using the ETC card rental service.
Use and Management of the ETC Card
During the ETC card rental period, customers must follow all precautions related to the ETC system and properly use and manage the ETC card.
Customers are fully responsible for all toll charges incurred during the rental period, including tolls used by third parties.
Toll Calculation and Payment Method
All toll charges are calculated based on the amount recorded on the IC chip of the ETC card, which corresponds to the amount displayed at the toll gate.
Special provisions such as toll adjustments due to road closures or discount services provided by certain road companies may not apply when using this ETC card.
Additional Toll Charges After Vehicle Return
If a toll shortage or unpaid toll is discovered after the rental vehicle is returned, customers will be required to pay the additional toll amount.
This may occur in the following situations:
- Failure to declare toll usage
- Inability to confirm toll history due to a malfunction of the ETC card or ETC reader
- Toll revisions or changes made by the road company
- Returning the vehicle to a location that cannot read ETC toll data
Loss or Theft of ETC Card
If the ETC card is lost or stolen, customers must immediately contact the Monthly GO departure office.
Unless the loss or theft is due to intentional misconduct or gross negligence, customers will not be responsible for toll charges incurred from the day after the loss or theft is reported.
ETC Card Compensation Fee
If the ETC card is lost, stolen, damaged, or deformed due to improper use or management, a card compensation fee of ¥3,000 (tax included) will be charged.
Deposit and Toll Settlement
Customers using the ETC card rental service are required to pay a ¥50,000 deposit in advance.
After the rental period ends, toll charges will be calculated based on the ETC usage history.
If there is an excess or deficiency in the deposit amount after toll settlement, a separate refund or additional invoice will be issued.
Please note that final toll confirmation may take time depending on the road company.
ETC Card Rental Fee
The ETC card rental fee is ¥200 per day (excluding tax).
The total ETC card rental cost is calculated based on the number of rental days.
Inquiries from Road Companies
If Monthly GO receives an inquiry from a road company regarding the use of an ETC card, including inquiries made after the rental period has ended, we may contact the customer for confirmation.
Failure to Return the ETC Card
If the ETC card is not returned after the scheduled rental period ends, Monthly GO may notify the road company that the rented ETC card is invalid.
